2. What’s Cordura Fabric?

Cordura fabrics are usually made of nylon, but may be blended with cotton or other natural fibers. They are known for their durability and resistance to abrasions, tears and scuffs.


3. Description

V-REFLEX ™ Reflective Material–RF-HW9033 Reflective Cordura Fabric is intended for the application on high-visibility warning clothing such as occupational work wear, consumer garments and accessories to enhance the visibility of the wearer during darkness and low light conditions.


It is composed of wide-angle, exposed retroreflective microscopic glass beads bonded to a Cordura fabric backing.


Clothing made out of RF-HW9033 will light the wearer’s whole silhouette up by reflecting right back the source, when illuminated by vehicle headlights, even when the wearer is situated at the side of the road. Thus improved the safety, comfort and visibility at night for road user.


V-REFLEX ™ Reflective Material–RF-HW9033 Reflective Cordura Fabric is processed by coating, which greatly improve its waterproof performance.


4. Physical Performance

The coefficient of retro-reflection (RAin cd/lux/m2) is measured by methods traceable to either of the following retroreflective intensity testing procedures:

ASTM E809-08 and E810-03 (RA)

CIE 54.2:2001 (R’)

The coefficient of retro-reflection exceed the minimum retro-reflectivity requirements in according to EN ISO 20471 and ANSI 107 level 2 as table below.

5. Care and Maintenance Instructions

Important: Test each application according to appropriate care instructions required for the finished product. Actual life of V-REFLEXTM Reflective Material depends on cleaning methods and wear condition.

Home laundering means using a top or front loading consumer type home washing machine with a consumer detergent at moderate water temperature. Garment finishing such as tumble drying at high temperature can limit garment life and should be considered as part of the cleaning process.

V-REFLEXTM Reflective Material - Reflective Fabrics may be home washed. Dry cleaning may be used for certain products. If bleach is needed, only non-chlorine bleach should be used. High alkaline treatments such as stain removal products should NOT be used.


6. Application Instruction

Whenever two or more pieces of V-REFLEXTMReflective Material - Reflective Fabric are used together on a single surface or as a set, they should be matched to ensure uniform daytime color and nighttime retro-reflectivity. All high visibility safety garments should be constructed in accordance with the appropriate standard(s).


6.1 Cutting

Die-cutting is recommended, although it can also be hand-cut or guillotined.


6.2 Sewing

For the best results, sew in place using a lockstitch and with no more than 12 stitches per inch (2.54 cm), and not less than 5/64” (2 mm) from the edge of the reflective fabric. Recommend for applying to light and medium weight fabrics.


6.3 Printing

Screen Printing - Images may be printed on the surface of V-REFLEXTM Reflective Material - Reflective Fabric. All inks should be continuously tested to ensure acceptable adhesion in the event of change occurring in the manufacturing process or composition of the ink. Prior to printing, wiping the surface with a soft cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol may help ink adhesion. Printed areas will not be retro-reflective.


Sublimation Printing - This printing method is applicable to V-REFLEXTM Reflective Material - Reflective Fabric.


7. Storage

The retroreflective performance of all reflective materials is affected by soiling. Any kind of dirt, liquid chemicals, grease and alike will reduce brightness in the area of contamination.


Store in a cool, dry area and use within 1 year of receipt.


Rolls should be stored in their original cartons, whilst partially used rolls should be returned to their carton or suspended horizontally from the core via a rod or pipe.

Cut sheets should be stored flat.
